The first convict tour started the day the prison colony closed in 1877. We welcome you to join this tradition with one of our experienced guides providing a general overview of the history of Port Arthur and its significance as a secondary punishment station. The Convict Tour runs for approximately 45 minutes and is our most accessible tour with only a few hundred metres of walking over fairly flat even ground.
