Port Arthur has a naturally deep harbour which lended itself perfectly to the arrival of large ships back in the convict era.
Today we welcome a select number of cruise ships each year. Passengers arrive by tender to the jetty in the morning to explore the site as well as join tours of the wider region. This activity is often limited to the morning hours with passengers returning back to the ship by mid afternoon.
