Kid’s Eye View

until Wed 9 Feb

Smiling families, eerie black and whites, stonework, gardens, the grand panoramas down to the very close-ups of bees – we love seeing and sharing your images and stories of your time at Port Arthur.  And now we want to see it how your younger ones see it!

Children lived, worked and learned here; their world would have been very different to what kids have today.  Let your children explore the ruins, grounds and history and then share it with us!

Kid’s Eye View Photo Competition

Unlike the prison of the 1800s, there aren’t too many rules:

  • 3 categories – <7, 8-12, 13-17 years
  • We would prefer that the child takes the photo where possible
(although this isn’t hard and fast, it’s more about getting a child’s perspective, so they can direct their parent on what to take)
  • Photos can be from any time within these 2022 Summer school holidays
  • Photos to be uploaded via either a check-in to Port Arthur Historic Site (Facebook) or by tagging #portarthurtassie (Instagram)
(this allows us to find you and let’s us know you are okay with us sharing it)
  • Add a sentence or two in the child’s words on their take of what they are seeing and/or the experience they had on the day.  Please also include the age of the child.
  • All entries must be received by 11:59pm Wednesday 9 February 2022.

Winners will be notified before 5:00pm 18 February 2022.
