This special activity is available to all families with site entry tickets to Port Arthur over the winter school holidays.
Learn about the stash of coins archaeologists discovered at Port Arthur Historic Site, and the mystery surrounding this exciting find. Why are coins so important to archaeologists, and what can they tell us about people of the past?
Meet our archaeologist Sylvana Szydzik and learn more about her work at Port Arthur. Discover what happens on an archaeological dig, what is special about this latest find and even see some real artefacts.
You will then get creative and make your very own coin to take home. What secrets could your own coin reveal to future archaeologists?
Thursdays 1pm-2pm
30 June, 7 July, 14 July & 21 July
