Port Arthur Historic Site Management Authority (PAHSMA) is responsible for conserving, protecting and promoting the award-winning UNESCO World Heritage-listed Port Arthur Historic Site, the Cascades Female Factory and the Coal Mines Historic Site in Tasmania.

After 20+ successful years of consistent leadership, the role of CEO is now being recruited to lead the task of transforming the Government Business Enterprise to ensure that PAHSMA will remain globally recognised now and into the future for excellence in telling the Australian convict story through outstanding conservation and tourism experiences. The role will take carriage of directing and implementing the vision and strategic priorities with a focus on continual improvement and a need to balance the needs of tourism with those of conservation.

Reporting to the Board, this role requires you to demonstrate strategic and operational excellence, a consultative approach but decisive leadership style and have strong values alignment to PAHSMA’s mission. The CEO will be able to demonstrate exceptional experience from tourism, hospitality, conservation, venues management or other related sectors, with a people and commercial focus. This would include the expertise necessary to lead and inspire a diverse team in a complex and evolving environment that will enable PAHSMA to achieve its objectives and support a high-performance culture. Exceptional stakeholder and community engagement, financial acumen and operational leadership are all considered essential to the success of this role.
