Port Arthur Historic Site Management Authority projects were recognised with several gongs in the recent Tasmanian Tidy Towns awards.
These included a Tourism Award for the excellence of the Port Arthur Dockyard installation.
The second was a Certificate of appreciation for the signage and beautification project at the Coal Mines Historic Site. The project was managed by PAHSMA Grounds & Gardens supervisor Ross Reid, who was presented with the award by David Llewellyn MHA, Minister for Primary Industries and Water.
Andrew Saunders, an inmate of Risdon Prison, received a certificate of appreciation for the manufacture of 30 seats for the Port Arthur Historic Site. The seats were designed by local craftsman Peter Rigozzi and are being deployed around the Site so that visitors can rest during their explorations.
