Today the grounds and gardens and bushland of the sites are among the more remarked aspects of the two historic landscapes.
At the Port Arthur Historic Site visitors are able to enjoy a range of features – from reconstructed 1850s gardens, through to flower and vegetable gardens of the early 20th century.
In contrast, the bushland of the Coal Mines Historic Site provides a thought-provoking setting for the ruins and relics of the ambitious and harsh convict mining endeavour that took place here.
