Be part of the school holiday fun at Port Arthur

August 23, 2011

These school holidays the Education Centre at the Port Arthur Historic Site will be buzzing with engaging activities to keep kids busy, and they enjoy the fun of learning.

The activities will be offered during the Tasmanian September school holidays, Saturday 3rd – Sunday 18th September, and we will also offer them during the Victorian school holidays, from September 25 to October 7.

The activities will take place in and around the Accountant’s House (Education Centre), near the Church. Join us to find out how convicts made the bricks of Port Arthur, or how people entertained themselves by making a Fantascope, a very early form of animation, or create your own Clothes Peg Doll.
How to participate
Access to the Education Centre is included in the cost of Site Entry – our Family Pass offers great value for money, offering entry for two adults and up to six children under 18 years.

We do ask for a gold-coin donation per child, per activity just to cover the cost of materials. A donation box is located within the Education Centre.

No bookings are necessary – just make your way to Port Arthur and there will be signage from the Visitor Centre. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
