‘Travelling Stories’ is the conference with a difference.
A collaboration between the Australasian Society for Historical Archaeology (ASHA) and Interpretation Australia (IA), the conference will travel, moving through venues from Launceston to Hobart via key natural and cultural heritage places throughout Tasmania.
The theme “Travelling Stories: connecting people and landscapes” aims to pull people together, fostering a greater understanding for all of the environments in which we live.

October 10 Tuesday: Arrive in Launceston – Welcome evening event
October 11 Wednesday: Launceston sessions
October 12 Thursday: Travel day Launceston to Hobart via Midlands
October 13 Friday: Hobart sessions + conference dinner (end of conference)
October 14 Saturday: Optional Hobart site visits or trip to Port Arthur Region
